Is life Fair?
Thursday, 08 October 2009 12:43

life-coach-life-is-not-fairA colleague of mind sent out a blog post early this morning with the question "Is life always fair in the end?".  It was thought provoking and this was my response...

"Life is what you make it. Really. Fair is a description that is created by us. We are the authors of our perception of life. It is made by us.

Glass half full… half empty… choose one… either way you are right.

Keeping the mind on “half full” setting takes conditioning like everything else in life. If you want to lift 100 more pounds or run 10 more kilometers with ease and grace it will take conditioning.

Application: If you want life to be fair keep telling yourself that it is in fact fair regardless of what happens. Look for evidence that it is fair and you will find it. Easy for me to say? Yes, and it is easy for you to say too, so start saying it.

Bottom line: If you are reading this from the western world then 98% of the rest of the world’s population would kill to have your (our) unfair problems. Really..."

Am I off my rocker? Is this callus? What if I had a terminal illness would I still have the same opinion? I fortunately don't have the answer to that but I would love to hear from you on the topic.
