I am certain that you have all heard of the GPS or “Global Positioning System”. It’s great for pinpointing where you are and how you can get to where you want to go. Right? Well I have a new low tech solution that I like to call the JAS system or the “Just Ask Someone” system. I discovered it while traveling in Sydney, Australia last December when my Blackberry GPS was not getting a signal. I though “Wait a second. What if I just asked someone where the train station was?”

Have you ever been afraid to speak up, take action or share something personal because of fear?
Where does this fear come from?
The past. We are acting now based on a fear that was created in the past that is going to dictate how our future unfolds. I bet if you put your thinking cap on and thought about what you fear today and looked back over your life you would be able to pin point an experience in life that created that fear. As time past you avoided putting yourself into those situations and the fear grew stronger until today where you just don't do it any more.

This is a post written by a friend and past collegue in response to some twitter posts that I had made one afternoon about my clients search for success.

Finding your path in life looks different for everyone and I think that is what makes it interesting. Thanks for the response Jeff! What is your take?

I agree with most of Michael's messages but his recent one concerning knowing what you want resonated more than the others.
I have never been (overly) jealous of those who've accumulated or accomplished more. Since I was young, however, I've been envious of those that had an unyielding sense of what they wanted or wanted to be. I'm not referring to an 8 year old who wants to play in the NFL, or a 12 year old who fleetingly wants to be a rock star - but those who seem to have acquired a glimpse of their future and are not willing to bend until that future is their reality.

For a long time I have been pondering what makes people more successful than others in their respective fields. What I keep coming back to is the notion that successful people on some level have the characteristic of being delusional.
Now when I first say that you are likely thinking "What? Successful people like Bill Gates or (fill in the blank) successful person is delusional?" Well let's think about it for a second. One of the greatest determinants of achieving something is the belief that it is possible. If you believed that something was impossible you would likely not attempt it. Question. When is the last time you tried to walk on water with the intention of testing that belief system? Maybe never, maybe at the age of five. When I had this thought about success a few years back, I actually tried to walk on water as an experiment at one of my swim work outs. It didn't go well, it was just an awkward looking entrance to the swimming pool, but I tried it.

A colleague of mind sent out a blog post early this morning with the question "Is life always fair in the end?". It was thought provoking and this was my response...
"Life is what you make it. Really. Fair is a description that is created by us. We are the authors of our perception of life. It is made by us.
